The Nordegg Heritage Centre and the Brazeau Collieries Historic Mine Site are located along the David Thompson Highway. The exhibit at the Centre includes photographs and artifacts relating to the history of the area, with particular emphasis on the coal mining industry. Almost all of the processing plant buildings of the Brazeau Collieries coal mine are still standing and the area is now designated a National Historic Site of Canada. Clearwater County manages the Heritage Centre and Historic Mine Site continuing the work of the Nordegg Historical Society in the restoration of the mine site structures and interpretation of the site to the public.  A trail system has been constructed through the mine site to allow for guided walking tours.

The Nordegg Heritage Centre, 4002 Stuart Street, is the start-point for tours of the Industrial Mine Site. The Nordegg Museum, Miner’s Café, Coliseum Gift Shop, and Tourist Information Centre are also located in the Centre. Mine Site tours of the Brazeau Collieries Mine Site are offered on weekends from May Long to Canada Day, then daily from Canada Day to the end of August. The Heritage Centre and  tours are closed on Wednesday's.  We also welcome pre-booked private group, school, photography and wedding tours.
