Event: Hidden Histories: Convent Hill’s Metis Cemetery and Red Deer’s Early Métis Communities

 A Talk by Dr. Brenda Garrett, in partnership with the Central Alberta Historical Society.

Dr. Brenda Garrett is the proprietor of Waskasoo Word Works and author of a series of heritage context papers for the City of Red Deer. In this presentation, she outlines her recent context paper on Convent Hill and discusses her research into the Metis cemetery located there. Join her as she explains how that research lead to a Library and Archives Canada search that uncovered some of the hidden histories of Red Deer's early Metis communities.
